Meet Dr. Ryan Weed

Dr. Weed has been a close associate of Dr. Craig Ellison since July 1, 2018. “I think there’s a good blending of our personalities and viewpoints at The Chiropractor at Castlebury. Dr. Ellison is more about the philosophy and art of chiropractic, and I lean more toward the science of it all. I’m intrigued by the science of the body. Helping people apply the principles of this fascinating science gives me great joy.”

The Path to Chiropractic

Dr. Weed decided to become a chiropractor at the end of his college years. His wife’s dad was a dentist and often commented that if he’d had to do it over again, he would’ve chosen to be a chiropractor. He had a good friend who was in the profession and observed how happy he was helping his patients get well.

I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. Even during my first week of attending classes, I experienced many ‘aha’ moments. I had only been adjusted about six times in my whole life. This was for neck pain, back pain or headaches. That’s what I thought chiropractic was all about.

Dr. Weed asked many of his fellow students why they’d chosen a career in chiropractic. The first response he received was that a student’s mom had been infertile for years and had spent almost $80,000 on IVF treatments. With no results. She went to a chiropractor in desperation and ended up giving birth many months later. A female student told Dr. Weed that her fibromyalgia disappeared through adjustments. “I was blown away to hear these stories.”

The Three Principles of Chiropractic

  1. The nervous system is the master controller in the body.
  2. The body has an innate ability to heal and regulate itself.
  3. Your spine is the lifeline that protects that ability.

These principles have been the guiding force throughout Dr. Weed’s career. He also exemplifies trustworthiness and integrity in his dealings with every patient.

He believes strongly in education as well and has taken many postgraduate courses to stay abreast of holistic approaches to wellness. He’s certified in Activator Methods® and holds many soft tissue certifications.
